On Monday (1120) at approximately 8:15 am in the Town of Macedon, Macedon Police Chief Fabian Rivera was involved in a property damage motor vehicle collision on Waterford Road while operating his patrol vehicle.
There were no injuries reported because of the collision, however, his patrol vehicle had to be towed from the scene due to front-end damage.
The Times has learned that Chief Fabian was then driven home by Macedon Officers after he was charged with DWI from the accident. He entered his residence, grabbed his keys and then drove away from the house on Eagles Roost in the Town of Walworth in his private vehicle . The Sheriff's Office then stopped his vehicle and Fabian was arrested a second time for DWI, Aggravated DWI, with a blood alcohol level of .25%
Rivera was issued tickets to return to the Macedon Town Court for the accident DWI and the Walworth Town Court for the second incident.
Upon finding out about the arrest of their police chief, the Macedon Town Board held meeting on Monday night to discuss the matter in a closed/personnel situation. The Board is also meeting tonight (Tuesday 11/21) to appoint a temporary replacement for Rivera
