Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a man on Friday accused of robbing a bank in Pittsford earlier this week. Mark C. Stupin, age 46, of 850 Peirson Avenue in Newark, is charged with third-degree Robbery and third-degree Grand Larceny.
Deputies said Stupin entered the KeyBank on Monroe Avenue in Pittsford Wednesday, (11/18) then passed a note to the teller demanding money.
The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money, along with a dye pack that exploded as he exited the bank. No one was hurt.
Deputies said they received a call a short time later from the Citizens Bank on Empire Boulevard in Webster. A man had reportedly showed up and made a deposit at an ATM with dye-stained currency. Security photos taken at the ATM later matched up and were confirmed to be Stupin.
Stupin was arraigned in Pittsford Town Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash /$20,000 bond.
A record check showed only a No Inspection Sticker ticket out of Newark in August. He reportedly works in construction and was self-employed.
