A judge accepted Christopher Perrin’s guilty plea on an Attempted Burglary charge from a May 19th incident. Under terms of the plea bargain, Perrin would receive six months of shock incarceration with five years probation. The Judge also warned him to stay out of trouble until his sentencing.

Before sentencing, Perrin reportedly entered a residence on Draper Street in the Village of Wolcott in June and stole two rings valued over $1,000. He was charged with Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree on July 21st and pled guilty to that charge on October 6th, anticipating a two year stent in prison.

Perrin thought he would go out and have a good time before his sentencing and expected time behind bars. To do so, and to get money for his celebratory drug and alcohol binge, Perrin, age 22, of 11816 Maplewood Drive in Wolcott, decided a burglary/home invasion would do the trick.

Following an investigation, on Monday (11/23) Perrin was indicted by the Wayne County Grand Jury on the following charges; Burglary 2nd, Robbery 3rd, Petit Larceny and Unlawful Imprisonment in the 1st Degree.

These charges stem from a home invasion that occurred on October 5th, where Perrin entered the home of a 91 year old victim on Draper Street in the Village of Wolcott.

Twenty minutes before the crime, Perrin reportedly stole a roll of duct tape from the local Family Dollar Store.

Upon engaging in the home invasion, Perrin demanded money from the elderly man. The victim was taped up around his legs and arms and laid down of the floor of his living room. Perrin found $800 in the upstairs of the house and left the scene. The victim worked himself free and called his daughter who lived several houses away. Police were summoned and the State Police investigation began.

Unbeknownst to Perrin, when he showed up for what he thought was going to be his sentencing on Tuesday for shock incarceration, he was met with the new Wayne County indictment for the home invasion.

Perrin, who was currently in jail awaiting sentencing on the other felony charges, was arraigned by County Court Judge Dennis Kehoe on Tuesday and remanded back to the Wayne County Jail on $250,000 cash/$500,000 bond to return on December 26th in Wayne County Court.
According to Wayne County District Attorney, Rick Healy, the shock probation for the Attempted Burglary and 2 year sentence for the original Grand Larceny plea is being set aside and Perrin can expect a longer sentence on that crime.

He is also looking at a 7 year sentence to possibly run consecutive with a 15 year sentence for the home invasion charges. “He could be facing 22 years in prison if convicted on the home invasion charges,” said Healy
