The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff reported the arrests on Wednesday (6/28) at 12:16 a.m. of four Wayne County residents for Robbery in the 2nd degree, Conspiracy in the 4th degree and Grand Larceny in the 4th degree.
Arrested were Crystal J. Quinn, age 33, of 4185 White Road Marion; Gabrielle L. Dame, age 31, of 207 West Miller Road Apt B in Newark; Elijah Jenkins Jr, age 37, of 8560 West Miller Street in Newark and Jerome M. Whitson, age 42, of 207 West Miller Street in Newark.
The four are accused of planning a false narcotic transaction with a Palmyra resident and, during the transaction, taking all of the buyer’s money and cell phone. The four fled the scene and were later stopped by Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies in the Town of Lyons.
All four were transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing and were arraigned in the Town of Palmyra Court. Quinn, Dame and Whitson were committed to the Wayne County Jail on $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bail. Jenkins was committed on no bail.
All four defendants will reappear in the Town of Palmyra Court at a later date and time to answer to the charges.
According to police, the four were intending to rob the victim from the start. They did not have the drugs requested by the victim, only some other type of medication ground up to look like the drugs. Once they had ready access, they robbed him.
The investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending.
