A warrant has been issued for Dean, (an ex Police Chief in Sun Ray, Texas), and he will be extradited to Wayne County. He is currently being held in Texas on charges of Child Injury.
Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts said that the extradition process will begin soon to bring Dean to Wayne County.
At the news conference, Sheriff Virts indicated that 5 Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Investigators travelled to Texas to investigate, and worked with the Texas Rangers, the Texas DPS, local law enforcement and the FBI to develop their case. He added “It is our belief that Dean pulled the trigger.”
Virts acknowledged that the couple were “persons of interest” almost immediately, but were not actual suspects until a few days ago.
“Whatever justice comes about, it will never be enough to replace a loved one,” Virts added.
