On Thursday (7/14) at around 3:30 p.m., the Macedon Police Department and the New York State Police, with the assistance of the Palmyra Police Department and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, investigated a bank robbery that occurred at the Chase Bank, located at the West Wayne Plaza, 1980 State Route 31 in Macedon.

Two black males entered the bank wearing jeans and black colored hooded sweatshirts. Both males displayed handguns and demanded cash from one of the bank tellers. The suspects obtained an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene in a dark colored SUV that was reported stolen in the City of Rochester back on June 22nd.

The SUV was located behind  the Plaza building a short distance from the bank.  Officers conducted a search of the area for the suspects with the assistance of State Police Aviation and a K-9 unit.

The suspects were not located.  Nobody inside the bank (one customer and three bank employees) at the time of the robbery was injured.

Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police at (315)946-3044.

Records indicate the last time the Chase Bank at that location was robbed was back in 1994.
