The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff reported the arrest on Wednesday (5/1) at 1:33 a.m. of William Eugene Watson, age 49, of Trolley Road in the Town of Palmyra, after an investigation into a domestic incident.

It is alleged that Mr. Watson hit a female multiple times in the face and strangled her four times, almost to the point of unconsciousness. These actions did cause several injuries to the female victims face and neck.

It is also alleged that Watson then grabbed a shotgun and loaded two rounds and threatened to kill himself, the female and any law enforcement that respond. Watson also took the females cell phone and threw it against the wall after she screamed for help when an incoming call came through on the phone.

Watson was charged with Strangulation in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, Menacing in the Second Degree, Assault in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree.

Watson was transported to the Wayne County Jail for the Central Arraignment Process where he was arraigned on Wednesday morning by the presiding judge and remanded to jail. Watson is to appear before the Town of Palmyra Court at a later date for further proceedings.
